BB&M was created by me, Miss Candice. August 5, 2023 was the kick off. Chapter one. I like to refer to it as the ‘soft launch.’ That one was for me (I had a special guest–Londyn Lenz). Like most businesses, BB&M started out as a simple idea. When I first thought of it a few years ago, the plan was for it to just be a meet and greet for me. Even then, that idea went from a simple meet and greet to a two day event that I’m still considering today. However, the idea was never to make BB&M what I’ve decided to make it today.

Eventually, I’ll come up with a fancier slogan, but today, that’s the best way to describe it. LOL. I’ve gone to a few book events and one thing I noticed is we don’t have ‘that’ in the Urban romance book industry. Most of the events we have are book conventions. The majority of us throw on a custom author T-shirt, some jeans (or leggings) comfortable shoes, and stand(or sit) at a table, trying to sell books to readers who are some times dressed similar. The walls are bare. There isn’t any aesthetic. No intimacy. No real connection. Just book selling. There is the optional meet and greet the day before the event but they still don’t offer true intimacy. And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with that. That is what book conventions are for.
However, I figured, it was time to do something different.
So… I did something different.
The vibe has been and always will be black girl luxury. Every Books Brunch and Mimosas event will exude class, grace, and elegance. Intimacy is the primal focus. I want to bring authors and readers together for a day of bonding over the books we (authors) love to write, and you (readers) love to read.
The Experience
Books Brunch and Mimosas is a one day event
that’s happening on JULY 27, 2024 12PM-4PM in Farmington Hills, MI
MIX & MINGLE
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a variety of bottomless mimosas and refreshments to choose from. The first half hour is reserved for mingling & photo opp’s!

Blind Date with a Book is exactly what the title says it is— a blind date with a book.
Most—if not all—readers judge books based on their covers. BDWAB takes away the privilege of knowing anything about the book before you buy it. Well… you’re allowed to choose something. The trope. But if you really want to boost the spontaneity, let me pick that for you too. Take a chance. You already know that the book you’re going to get is going to be a five star read, it’ll be written by one of the attending authors of Books, Brunch and Mimosas: Chapter Two.

Blind Date With a Book has been around for a while, but I have yet to see it done in the Urban/Black Romance community. If it has been done, then I haven’t seen it. So! I decided to get in on it.
